I drew this for an "art competition" in the Stranger Things subreddit. Thread link.

The minor issue: It is now my understanding that the art competition was actually a poster design competition. This was not stated in the contest parameters, which have now been erased. Had I known I'd have submitted directly to the subreddit instead. My art is clearly not poster design. The competition results were also decided by a secret panel. I think the whole subreddit should have been able to decide, or it should at least have been decided by an open panel adhering to some kind of transparent or objective standard. The use of a secret panel was not made clear during the submissions process either. I discussed this with other users under the results post, and we might have come to a resolution given a bit of time, but:

The central issue: My comments were all quickly deleted by the moderators and I have been banned.  That's the part that has bothered me enough to alter my DeviantArt pages. The rest was just a matter for discussion.

The power-tripping and dishonest competition head has decided to blame me for my mistreatment. This person has removed the links to the pieces' DeviantArt submissions, deliberately hiding the fact that I have been censored, and has replaced them with direct image links. "I would love to link to your DeviantArt. I really would. But my priority is to end the undeserved controversy you've created. If you comply with my request, I'll comply with yours. I do have the power to link back your deviant art, which I am willing to do, if you return your pictures & their descriptions to what they were before the art competition results were released. I'm not retaliating against you because of your opinions. I'm combatting your defamation [citation needed] because it's false and unjustified [citation needed]. So continue it, just realize that it comes with consequences and that no-one will actually care because you've made yourself look completely mad." -- /u/progatician

Needless to say, I will not comply with demands that I lie by omission. I have been banned and censored. This is a fact. Victim blaming and gaslighting will not change this fact.

The Stranger Things subreddit is not a place I recommend investing in. As is so common on reddit, the moderation is juvenile, tyrannical, self-serving and tightly knit.

I run the Stranger Things group on MINDS. It's tiny right now, but you won't be censored there.

And to be clear, no, this is not about the placement of my drawings in the competition (several better pieces of work are listed below mine in the rankings).
This is foremost about censorship. The secrecy and unclarity discussed in the censored comments are secondary. The placement of individual works is relatively irrelevant.
